Process Dynamics

About

Welcome to the website of the Process Dynamics group lead by Dr Enzo Liotti,  Lecturer in Processing of Advanced Materials in the Materials department at the University of Oxford.

Our research sits at the boundary between fundamental materials science, manufacturing technology, and data analytics. We investigate the interrelation between fundamental phenomena controlling structural evolution during manufacturing processes in order to either improve materials performance, optimise processes or scale-up new materials. A fundamental aspect of our work is the development of novel X-ray-based characterization techniques and the use of artificial intelligence to study dynamic processes in-situ and operando. Most of our current research concerns the reduction of emission from the metal manufacturing sector, enabling  nuclear fusion technologies and developing new materials for Zero emissions.

The group is based at Oxford University's Begbroke Science Park, eight kilometers north of Oxford city centre.
